New Moon in Sagittarius
December 9, 2007
New Moons are times of new beginnings, planting new seeds and of setting new intentions.
This New Moon is especially dynamic as not only are the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius,
but also Mercury, Jupiter Pluto and the major asteroid Juno. For Sagittarius the
search for truth, meaning and discovering new horizons is what the astral Archer
is aiming towards. Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius conjoins Pluto (lord
of the underworld) invites us to dig beneath the surface for new revelations so
the truth can be told. This New Moon is an excellent time to overhaul negative belief
patterns. "If you start to think the problem is 'out there' stop yourself.
That thought is the problem".
Jupiter and Pluto just passed over the Galactic Center at 26 degrees, 56 minutes
of Sagittarius and on December 18, the Sun makes it's annual journey ver the
Galactic Center which continues to bring new breakthroughs and discoveries.
Also, on December 18, Jupiter makes it's ingress into Capricorn and will stay
there until January 5, 2009. The last time Jupiter went into Capricorn was from
January 1 1996 until January of 1997. This cycles coincided with many limits
placed on govement social services such as welfare reform. This is a
reality check that wasteful (Jupiter) government spending has long term consequences
that will affect future generations. The up side is that while Jupiter in Sag wants
give speeches about lets say for example, hunger children, Jupiter in Capricorn
wants to build a center that feeds the hungry. Jupiter is the vision and Capricorn
is let's 'get err done' !
Jupiter deals with truth, Pluto deals with things that are hidden or buried.
Just a few days ago a new government report revealed that the Bush administration
has totally exaggerated (Jupiter) the threat of Iran's nuclear capacity. Today
the CIA was exposed as it burned video tapes of interrogating so called enemy
combatants which included water boarding. Truth is always the first casualty of
War. With Jupiter entering Capricorn on the 18th, and Saturn goes retrograde
on the 19th suggests that government structures/contractors (Blackwater) may
be examined more closely and be held for serious accountability. Jupiter in
Capricorn will be the first trigger for setting off the cardinal squares that will
form between Pluto in Capricorn, Saturn in Libra and Uranus in Aries between 2008
and 2012 !
Mars in Cancer coincided with the Major fire damage to hundred of homes in California
and as Mars continues to go retrograde (slow burn) until January 30, 2008,
the sub-prime mortgage crisis remains a major issue, and as Mars (retro) crosses
and recrosses the Jupiter/Venus conjunction in Cancer in the USA Chart is
another indicator of serious trouble in the financial (Jupiter/Venus) and in the
housing sector. Mars in Cancer inconjuncts (150 degrees) Chiron in Aquarius.
This transit is potentially a huge healing for all Americans, as they are
deeply challenged to remember their original ideals and Values. Both Cancer
and Aquarius have to do with family. Cancer is the blood family and Aquarius is
our social or tribal family. I once read somewhere "that unless you have
a home that heals your soul, you will never heal". Let the healing begin
!
The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon reads: Children playing on the Beach, their
heads protected by Sunbonnets. It is a symbol of Protection. Could this mean
divine protection (Sagittarius) ? Mercury conjuncts Pluto on the 19th you
may come up with information not visible to the rest of the world. You know
what's important now, and what needs to be eliminated. Let go of toxic thoughts
! Mercury is the only God (messenger of the gods) to travel into Pluto's
realm (underworld) and emerge safely. Those who have Mercury angular
or strongly placed in their charts are said to "walk between two worlds".
The Full Moon takes place this month on the 23rd at 2 degrees of Cancer. The Moon
deals with emotional healing and this is a good time to invite love,
nurturing and reconciliation especially with family members. Cancer's greatest
gift is attending to the need of others over their own essential needs. Since
Cancer is the Maternal nuturer archetype, nurturing the nurturer is a precious gift
that we may give back to our caregivers, a gift often forgotten.
